But what would you say if the employment office give you a job which is two hundred kilometres away from your home?

In above image the orange circle represents 500km from the place where I live so I would have me a good laugh if they offered me a job as far as Switzerland or Wales. Belgium is roughly about 250km across, even 200km is unpractical. If I'm not mistaken the distance for which you have to take the job is about 30km in Belgium. But to answer your question, I don't mind long distances as long as it's within reasonable boundaries. And by that I mean I should be able to reach it since I don't have a car, without spending to much time or money (compared to what I earn and working hours).

I once drove throught Belgium and I noticed that there are not many hills.

Very flat or should I say low country.

Ideal terrain for... German tanks. >;D

Going back to the 90's, there was a regional loss prevention manager for our company. He lived a short drive from his office but decided to buy a house in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He would drive to Woodbridge, NJ every day 130 miles, 2 1/2 hours each way. My girlfriend saw his check for travel. The company was giving him $1700 per month for his trip. Made me want to think, should I get $170 a month if I drive 13 miles to work?

Considering our history Belgium has been used as a parking lot by the Dutch, French, Germans, Spaniards, Austrians, ... Our land has always been popular as an arena for their wars you know.
